Say Cheese
Tjep. was invited to design a prominent area of Schiphol Lounge 3. Right at the center of this complete renewal project executed by Benthem and Crouwel Acrchitects in collaboration with Merckx and Girod, Tjep. realized a flower shop as a canal house, a giant bread display inspired by construction elements of Dutch windmills and a cheese counter of traditionally stacked cheese shapes.

Dance with me
Designer Amandine Alessandra has created a full alphabet interpretation using dance based on 26 choreographic micro-pieces. Long-exposure photography reveals each letter, invisible to the naked eye.

3D street art
Incredible 3D street painting of a LEGO Terracotta Army. The guy behind the chalk illustration is Peter Westerink and his Planet Streetpainting, a collaboration of street artists based in the Netherlands. They created the drawing during the Sarasota Chalk Festival in Florida.

British company Architects of Air create inflatable labyrinths with tunnels and domes in beautiful colors. Exhibited in over 37 countries since 1992, with newer and larger designs expanding on the original concept. I took the photo's above in 2003.

In Misrata, FB 17 – named for 17 February, the day rebellion broke out in Libya – recorded No More Lies, an album of five tracks which has become a hit across this besieged city and on the rebel front lines.

Bivouac
Currently on show at the Centre Pompidou-Metz the work of Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. The exhibition is neither an inventory nor a retrospective of their work but illustrates the current state of their designs and research, in constant evolution. Also on display are prototypes and finished products, plus both mass-produced and hand-crafted items. It is the brothers’ first major solo show in France and can be visited until 30 July, 2012.
